A family firm of fish merchants since the nineteenth century, our grandfather smoked fish in London from 1890. Our father continued the business in the 1920's and moved to East London (Stepney) at the beginning of World War 2. Ironically after surviving the blitz we came to Lowestoft.
The present chairman has been smoking fish since 1947, but now we have modern refrigerated vans instead of horses and we only use pure Suffolk oak sawdust. It is still smoked the traditional way without any dye or artificial colours. I travel especially to Tring for the Farmers Market to offer you the freshest of fish and the tastiest smoked products. |
